My parents named me Pedro Cruz at birth but by the time I was a teenager I had everyone calling me FLAKO. I was born and raised in the famous city of Boston, MA. I’m a Boricua creative specializing in documentary and portrait photography, but I’ve worked everything from weddings to mayoral campaigns. When I’m not running around taking pictures, I’m at home writing poetry, painting on a wooden canvas or making music. I live to create and I create to live.
My recent work has been focused around self-exploration and the investigation of one’s own culture. I’ve been traveling back in time to the days of my ancestors through my art and personal research. I welcome you to do the same.
I want to share my pictures, stories, art, and experiences with the world. FlakoVeli is my alter ego and this blog is my creative journal. My purpose is to inspire others to #ThinkAndCreate.
