Professional Experience:

2016-2018     Youth Arts Program Coordinator

Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (Boston, MA)

Coordinated and implemented youth arts programming curriculum, including workshops in: Visual Arts, Photography, Lyrics & Poetry, and Community Education. Supervised a group of peer leaders. Planned and facilitated youth art exhibitions, open mics, theatrical performances, and community events.

2017     Teaching Artist

Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción (Boston, MA)

Designed and taught a two-day Mask Making workshop to the members (all ages) of the Villa Victoria Community. Workshop included: Drawing, painting and sculpting. The focus was to create masks influenced by the Puerto Rican culture for an upcoming community festival.

2016     Photographer

Bowdoin Street Health Clinic (Boston, MA)

Was hired by the Boston Public Health Commission to lead a photography project titled “My Geneva/My Bowdoin: One Community, Many Cultures”. Participated in numerous community meetings, organized and executed interviews and portrait sessions with local community members. Final presented work was printed and displayed in large billboards around the Dorchestor neighborhood.

2016     Facilitator

Blackstone Community Center (Boston, MA)

Designed and taught 3-hour Basics of Photography workshop to a group of 10+ adults (bloggers). Workshop included conversation on the fundamentals of photography, and a hands-on experience of how to take your own pictures.

 2015    Teaching Artist

Friendship Afterschool Program (Boston, MA)

Designed and taught a week-long Exploring Photography workshop to children ages ranging 8 to 12. Workshop included conversation on the basics of photography, picture taking and framing. Also helped organize a community event to present the final work to the family and friends of the participants.

2014     Teaching Artist

The Hurley School (Boston, MA)

Designed and taught a three-day creative workshop to 8th grade students ranging in age from 13 to 14 for their Pasillos Pintados event. Workshop included: Drawing, Poetry, Photography and Filming. Focused on developing skills as well as exploring new techniques in order to encourage experimentation, creation, and discovery.

2008 Teaching Artist

ABCD High School  (Boston, MA)

Volunteered 4 hours a week through the school year. Worked with a class of 17 year old students, exploring and creating poetry pieces that they later shared with the school during a family event. Helped students create poems in reflection of social issues in their communities.
