The Mirror Effect

Welcome back!

For the past few months my energy has been reserved strictly for the Dead Roses photography project. So you can't even begin to imagine how ready I was to run with some new ideas.

It is very important, as creators, that we explore new techniques. The world around us is forever changing. The same goes for just about anything you can imagine. The key is to evolve your craft as you go on. Don't be afraid to try something new. A new trick. A new lens. A location you wouldn't normally gravitate towards. You'll be surprise with what you can create when you step out of your comfort zone.

I've worked with Nalitza a couple of times before. We have good chemistry and she's a natural. I chose the location this time. It's a spot I've been eyeing recently. It's just been too cold to do anything with it. We met up at night and got to work.

It's been a while since I shot at night so I had to warm up a bit. I'm a big fan of natural light, hence why I haven't shot at nighttime in a while. The session lasted about an hour before we decided to go home. Plus it was cold out.

I honestly pictured something completely different when I started to play with the mirror effect. You could even say I created these by accident. Some came out a bit weird and borderline creepy. But if you ask me- they are ARTSY! I love them. Tell me what you think of this selection.

Go and create some of your own. Feel free to share them with me. Have fun!
